If you are on Telegram, you might see Richard Citizen Journalist’s videos showing what is going on in Washington D.C. I wondered if the information he and “Nancy Drew” were posting was true (trust but verify). I asked some people I know that live around the area to check it out. That was quite a few months ago. At that time, when the Capital fences were going up and down, they validated that what I was hearing/seeing on the videos was valid.
Washington D.C. seems to have continued to be a pretty desolate place. The FBI buildings and other Federal buildings are used very little. This Monday morning (1/10/22), as Richard Citizen Journalist drove down Pennsylvania Avenue, there was nothing going on and very little traffic. Last week, we interviewed an author that lives in Washington D.C. on a show I co-host and he confirmed that it’s “like a ghost town” (I am paraphrasing, but that was the impression he left with me).
What do you believe is going on? Why are our government workers not working in the buildings that are there for them? Where are they? Are they at home working? Do they have a secure place if they are? Are our documents being protected in whatever environment they are in?
The pandemic is over. The PCR tests have been pulled off the shelf. The CDC and FDA said they cannot tell the difference between COVID and the flu. People are being vaccinated. The emergency has been over for quite a while now. Why are our government workers not back to work?
Are we paying extra for them to work elsewhere? As taxpayers, we need to find out where our tax dollars are being spent and if our government is doing its job. I can’t understand how the IRS, FBI and other government agencies can be effective if they aren’t able to be in their offices. Does it mean we shouldn’t have them there at all? Maybe we can get rid of that overhead. Save us all a couple of dollars. I like to find answers and provide solutions, but I am at a loss on this one.
I’d love to hear from anyone “in the know”.
Just an FYI: saw another post last night. Apparently, St. Louis is pretty deserted too. What does your city look like? I'm in Reno, Nevada and it's busy here. Maybe not up to peak, but certainly have plenty of traffic.
