Remembering the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787

As a publisher and printer, LeRue Press, includes as a part of its mission, honoring freedom of speech as written in the Constitution for the United States of America and the Bill of Rights:

“Amendment I (First Amendment – Freedom of expression and religion) 

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Let’s celebrate our Constitution. Let’s remember that we are a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY. “While the constitution establishes a federal form of a national government, powers are delegated to people and states rather than a central, all-powerful bureaucracy. 

In this sense, it can accurately be considered a union in a republic, as power is distributed evenly amongst people and states.”

And for the record, in 1956, September 17 through September 23 were proclaimed Constitution Week so you’ve got plenty of time to “study up” on your Constitution facts. Share them with your friends and family. Help spread the word to our children who may not be learning about this in their studies.
