Chris Garvey was born and raised in Sparks and is a life-long Nevadan. Married for 43 years, she and her husband have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. After graduating from high school she attended the University of Nevada Reno and went on to earn her Associates degree in Applied Sciences for Dental Hygiene. In addition to a 20 year career as a dental hygienist, Chris has worked in mental health and disabilities as well as real estate.
In 2008, Garvey was elected to the Clark County School Board and served in that role for 12 years. She has volunteered on a variety of boards and committees and currently serves on the Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy. Community and public service has always been important to Chris Garvey and that’s why she is running for Sparks City Council in Ward 1. She joins us in the 1st hour.
In the 2nd hour, Chef Debbie Wilson Berment joins the crew of What’s the Story?/Book Hound to share her delightful “Sagajo Experience” of recipes in her just released book. Looking for a little guidance for your next party? Look no further. In her words: “Life is meant to taste and celebrate.”
